Rain may dampen Garba mood in these parts of Gujarat; IMD forecasts rainfall until Oct 12

Gandhinagar: The Festival of Navratri is ongoing, and Kheliyas have been playing Garba late into the night for over six days now. However, the rain is likely to dampen the happiness of Garba lovers in the remaining days of Navratri, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light rain in some parts of South Gujarat and Saurashtra.

According to the latest forecast from the IMD, light to moderate thunderstorms with lightning and surface winds of 30-40 km/h (in gusts) accompanied by light to moderate rain are very likely at isolated places in the South Gujarat districts, namely Narmada, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, and in Daman and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. In the Saurashtra districts, this includes Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, and Diu on October 9th.

On October 10th, light to moderate thunderstorms with lightning and surface winds of 30-40 km/h (in gusts) accompanied by light to moderate rain are also very likely at isolated places in the South Gujarat districts amely Narmada, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, and in Daman and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and the Saurashtra districts Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, and Diu

On October 11th, light rain is very likely at isolated places in the South Gujarat districts, including Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, and in Daman and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. This also applies to the Saurashtra districts of Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, and Diu.

On October 12th, light rain is very likely at isolated places in the same South Gujarat districts namely Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, and in Daman and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.

From October 13th to 15th, dry weather is likely to prevail across Gujarat.
