Surat: The southwest monsoon has withdrawn from the entire country, yet other synoptic systems are bringing some rainfall. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), light rain is likely to continue over some parts of Gujarat during the next 7 days, until October 22nd.

The IMD also stated that the depression over the Westcentral Arabian Sea off the Oman coast moved northwestward at a speed of 23 kmph over the past 6 hours. It crossed the Oman coast near latitude 19.35°N and longitude 57.7°E, close to Duqm (Oman), between 2230 IST and 2330 IST, and lay as a well-marked low-pressure area over coastal Oman at 2330 IST on October 15th, 2024. It is likely to move northwestward and gradually weaken thereafter over Oman.
