Khyati Hospital Chairman in Australia; lookout notice if he fails to return by Nov 21

Ahmedabad: Vastrapur Police has booked five individuals, including the Chairman, CEO, and Directors of Khyati Multispeciality Hospital, for the death of two PMJAY beneficiaries due to unnecessary and botched angioplasty. One of the accused, Hospital Chairman Kartik Patel, is currently in Australia on a Diwali vacation and is expected to return to Ahmedabad on November 21. However, in case the accused fails to return to the city, the police are prepared to issue a lookout notice against him.
The FIR has been filed based on a complaint by Dr. Prakash Ishwarlal Mehta, the in-charge CDMO and Civil Surgeon at GMERS Sola Civil Hospital, on behalf of the Gujarat government. The five accused named in the case include Hospital Chairman Kartik Jashu Patel, Rajshri Pradeep Kothari, CEO Chirag Hirasingh Rajput, Cardiologist Dr. Prashant Vazirani, and Bariatric Surgeon Dr. Sanjay Mulji Patolia.
They face charges under various sections of the BNS, including 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 110 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), 336(2) (forgery), 336(3) (forgery with intent to use it to cheat), 318 (cheating), 340(1) (using forged documents as genuine), 340(2) (knowingly using forged documents as genuine), and 61 (criminal conspiracy).
Among the five accused, Dr. Prashant Vazirani was arrested by the police on Thursday and has been remanded to seven days in police custody by the local court. Another accused, Hospital CEO Chirag Rajput, had previously given a clean chit to the hospital in a media interview. However, after his name appeared in the FIR, he has gone into hiding. The other two accused, Rajshri Kothari and Dr. Sanjay Patolia, have also gone underground. The police are on the lookout for these accused as well.
