Ahmedabad Metro Rail service adds another station to its route

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) today, in a note, informed that the metro train services operating between Vastral Gam and Thaltej in Ahmedabad are now going to be extended up to Thaltej Gam from 8 December 2024. The first train from Thaltej Gam will depart at 6:20 am.

The Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project is divided into two phases, comprising multiple lines and extensions to enhance urban mobility. Phase I consists of two corridors and has a total of 32 stations, of which 28 are elevated and 4 are underground. The East-West corridor is 20.91 km long, including 14.40 km of elevated section and 6.6 km of underground section, while the North-South corridor is 19.12 km long and comprises only an elevated section. Phase I includes the Blue Line and the Red Line. The Blue Line connects Thaltej Gam to Vastral Gam, while the Red Line runs between Motera Stadium and APMC.

Phase II of the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project extends the North-South Metro Corridor from Phase I. The main line extends from APMC to Motera and continues to Mahatma Mandir, while the branch line starts at GNLU and ends at GIFT City. The total length of the rail line is 28.2 km, comprising 22.8 km of main line and 5.4 km of branch line. There are 20 stations on the main line and 2 stations on the branch line.
