Gujarat govt get over 11,000 objections and suggestions on draft Jantri rates

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government today announced that it has received over 11,000 objections and suggestions regarding the draft Jantri rates.

Addressing a press conference, Spokesperson Minister Rishikesh Patel stated, “Keeping public interest in mind, directives were issued to simplify and rationalize land prices by adopting a scientific approach and preparing a Jantri reflecting actual prices.”

The draft Jantri and guidelines, dated November 20, 2024, for urban and rural areas, were published for public suggestions. The draft was prepared with a district-wise analysis of relevant factors and necessary modifications.

“In two months, the state government received a total of 11,046 objections and suggestions—approximately 5,400 from urban areas and over 5,600 from rural areas. Among these, 6,753 submissions were requests for reducing Jantri rates, 1,755 for increasing rates, 94 for correcting survey numbers in wrong value zones, 268 for survey numbers excluded from the Jantri, and 2,176 were other suggestions,” he said.

Ahmedabad district recorded the highest number of objections, totaling 2,179, while Tapi district had the lowest with just seven submissions.

The initial deadline for objections and suggestions was set for December 20, 2024, but it was extended to January 20, 2025, to accommodate additional public feedback.

The minister further explained that Deputy Collectors at the district level will conduct preliminary verifications before forwarding the submissions to district-level committees for final decisions. The entire process is expected to be completed within 15 days and submitted to the state government for further action. DeshGujarat
