Vadodara: In yet another fatal incident caused by stray cattle menace, an elderly man died in the city after being hit by a stray cow while riding his moped on Harni-Warasiya Ring Road.
The incident occurred on Sunday when 66-year-old Girishbhai Delvi, a resident of Laxminarayan Society on Warasiya Ring Road and a security guard by profession, was heading home after work. Near the SRP petrol pump, a stray cow hit him from the front, causing him to fall from his moped. A crowd gathered at the scene, and he was immediately rushed to Sayaji Hospital, where doctors diagnosed him with a brain haemorrhage. However, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Regarding the incident, Girishbhai’s son stated that ongoing roadwork on Harni-Warasiya Ring Road has led to frequent traffic jams, which may have contributed to the accident. Despite repeated complaints to the city civic body, the problem of stray cattle continues to persist in the Harni-Warasiya Ring Road and Khodiyarnagar areas. DeshGujarat
