Gujarat govt to mark 2025 as Urban Development Year; 40% increase in budget

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat will mark the year 2025 as the Urban Development year. Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai made this announcement while delivering his budget speech today in the state assembly.
Desai recalled how then Chief Minister Narendrabhai Modi had declared the year 2005 as Urban Development Year in the past. Desai said the budget for the Urban Development department is proposed to be increased by about 40 percent to 30,325 crore.
Desai said 69 municipalities, including the state headquarters Khambhaliya, Lunawada, Modasa, Vyara, Chhota Udepur, Dahod, and Rajpipla, will be upgraded. Dwarka, Palitana, Dakor, and Chotila municipalities will also be upgraded. DeshGujarat
