AMC sees rise in tax collections for FY 2024-25; Property tax up by 5.3%, Professional tax by 11.7%

Ahmedabad: The city civic body’s tax collection for the ongoing fiscal year 2024-25, as of February 25, stands at ₹1,466.47 crore, surpassing the total for the same period last year.
During FY 2023-24, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) collected ₹1,679.98 crore in property tax, with ₹1,393.11 crore collected between April 1 and February 25. This year, the civic body has already collected ₹1,466.47 crore, marking a 5.27% increase in property tax collection.
Additionally, the AMC has collected ₹229.95 crore in professional tax from April 1, 2024, to February 25, 2025, reflecting an 11.7% increase compared to the same period last year. A total of ₹237.57 crore was collected in the previous financial year (2023-24).
The total tax collection for the year, including property, professional, and vehicle taxes, as of February 25, stands at ₹1,920.14 crore, accounting for 89.19% of the total tax collection of ₹2,151.82 crore in FY 2023-24.
The AMC figures also revealed that the West Zone generated the highest property tax revenue at ₹320.59 crore, followed by the North West Zone at ₹311.70 crore. The lowest revenue was recorded in the North Zone, with ₹121.64 crore collected in property tax. DeshGujarat
