Gujarat govt’s next focus is green power supply to industries: CM Bhupendra Patel
March 10, 2025
Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel today said that the state government is planning to introduce a Green GIDC in the state where production will take place only using green energy supplied by the government.
‘As we move ahead, the thrust is on green energy nationally and globally. If you look at the MoUs inked in the last Vibrant Gujarat Summit, fifty percent of them were inked in the green energy sector,’ he said while speaking at the CII summit.
He said, “The ‘state government has already started supplying power to the agriculture sector in the daytime. Now we are focusing on how the government can supply green energy to industries. We will take one GIDC where total energy supply will be green and by the government, and it will be certified that all products manufactured in that GIDC are green products.’
‘The way the demand for green energy is increasing, there can be a time that though we manufacture the things here, if they are not green energy powered, then their price may increase (due to tariff). We have prepared to move in that direction faster than others.”
The Chief Minister also stressed on the good packaging of MSME products. DeshGujarat
