Gujarat Congress shares more details on AICC Convention in Gujarat in April

Ahmedabad: The National Convention of the Congress Party will be held in Ahmedabad on April 8th and 9th. Giving details about the AICC convention, Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee President Shaktisinh Gohil stated that, after a long time, the AICC convention is being hosted in the state of Gujarat. The All India Congress Committee is the highest body of the Congress Party, with its first convention held in 1885. The roots of India’s independence were planted during the Haripura Convention held in Gujarat in 1938, where Congress passed the resolution for Purna Swaraj (complete independence) for India.

As the year 2025 marks the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, on April 8, 2025, an important ‘Congress Working Committee’ (CWC) meeting will be held at Sardar Patel’s memorial, ‘Sardar Smarak,’ in Shahibaug at 11:30 AM. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Congress Parliamentary Party Leader Sonia Gandhi, Chief Ministers of Congress-ruled states, State Presidents, members of the Congress Working Committee, and invited guests will be present at the CWC meeting in Gujarat. Specially invited members of the Gujarat Congress will also participate in this session.

At 5 PM on April 8, senior leaders of the Indian National Congress and members of the Congress Working Committee will attend a Bhajan and Prayer meeting at Pujya Bapu’s Sabarmati Ashram. This marks the 100th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi becoming the President of the Congress, recognizing the party’s ideology as suitable for the country’s freedom struggle. Sardar Patel, the first and longest-serving President of the Gujarat Congress, holds great significance for this National Session held in Gujarat.

A cultural program will be organized on the night of April 8, with all the members, including those attending the Congress Working Committee meeting, in attendance.
