Bullet Train Project: River bridge over Kim River in Surat completed

Surat: A bridge on the Kim River, Surat district, Gujarat, has been completed for the Bullet Train project on 15th March 2025. This is the 14th river bridge completed for the project in Gujarat. A total of 21 river bridges will be constructed in the Gujarat portion, said National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited in a press release.

The river bridge, situated between the Surat and Bharuch Bullet Train stations, spans a total length of 120 meters and comprises three full-span girders of 40 meters each. The bridge stands on four circular piers, each with a diameter of 4 meters, with pier heights ranging from 12 to 15 meters. It is strategically located approximately 30 kilometers from both Surat and Bharuch stations. In addition to this bridge, other river bridges on the corridor—across the Tapi and Narmada rivers—are currently under construction.
