AMC to set up storm water pumping station at Vande Mataram Underpass
April 08, 2025
Ahmedabad: To prevent waterlogging during the monsoon, a storm water pumping station will be installed at the Vande Mataram Underpass in Chandlodia, located in the North West Zone of the city. The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has awarded the contract for setting up this pumping station to M/s Patel Brothers. The project, valued at ₹3.88 crore, includes the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning (SITC) of electro-mechanical machinery, along with five years of operation, comprehensive maintenance, and security of the system.
The underpass, situated approximately 300 metres from the Oval Chandlodia–Khodiyar railway crossing, is prone to rainwater accumulation during heavy downpours, affecting traffic flow and public transport. With the new pumping system in place, rainwater will be discharged swiftly, ensuring uninterrupted use of the underpass by commuters, especially those travelling between Gota and the S.G. Highway area. The proposal has been submitted to the Standing Committee for final approval. DeshGujarat
