2 flyovers to be built in Ahmedabad for ₹379 crore; Amit Shah to lay foundation stone

Ahmedabad: The city will soon get new flyovers as the foundation stone for these is set to be laid on Sunday. These flyovers will be built in the western part of the city along the Law Garden–CN Vidyalaya route and parallel to the Chimanbhai Patel Bridge. The city civic body aims to finish both projects within 34 months at an estimated cost of around ₹379 crore.

Chairman of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC)’s Standing Committee, Devang Dani, announced that Union Home Minister Amit Shah will lay the foundation stone for the projects on Sunday.

The Law Garden flyover, spanning 770 metres, will cover key points such as Panchwati Crossroads, Ambawadi Circle, and CN Vidyalaya. With a project cost of ₹142.02 crore, it is expected to significantly reduce traffic on CG Road, Law Garden, Ambawadi, and Nehru Nagar, benefiting over 1.5 lakh daily commuters.

The Chimanbhai Patel bridge project, estimated at ₹237.32 crore, will feature a three-tier overpass with a connecting arm to Subhash Bridge, stretching nearly 2,000 metres. The area beneath the flyover will be developed as needed. The railway portion of the project will be handled by Indian Railways. DeshGujarat
