Gate repairs in Shedhi canal to impact water supply in Ahmedabad
July 08, 2025
Ahmedabad: Due to gate maintenance work being carried out by the Irrigation Department in the Shedhi branch canal, the water level in the canal has decreased. As a result, there will be a short supply of water from the Raska Water Treatment Plant for the next three days, from July 9 to July 11, 2025.
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), in a press note, stated: “Today, the Irrigation Department has undertaken maintenance work of the gate in the Shedhi Branch Canal. Due to the drop in the canal water level, there will be a short supply from the Raska Water Treatment Plant for the next three days, i.e., from 9/7/25 to 11/7/25. Therefore, residents are requested to operate borewells during this period.”
Due to the short supply from the Raska plant, water shortages are expected in the Vastral and Ramol-Hathijan Wards of the Eastern Zone, as well as in the Vatva, Lambha, and Isanpur Wards of the Southern Zone. DeshGujarat
