India issues NOTAM for major tri-services exercise in Gujarat, Rajasthan near Pak border

Jamnagar: India has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) alert for a major tri-services military exercise along the Pakistan border from October 30 to November 10.

Satellite imagery shared by geo-intelligence analyst Damien Symon revealed India’s NOTAM notice covering an area along Gujarat’s border with Pakistan, noting that the designated zone and scale of activity appeared unusually large. The exercise will involve airspace restrictions up to 28,000 feet.

The upcoming Tri-Services Exercise, “Ex Trishul,” will see the participation of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. According to the Ministry of Defence, the drill aims to showcase India’s growing inter-service coordination, self-reliance (Atmanirbharta), and innovation — key components of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s JAI (Jointness, Atmanirbharta, Innovation) vision for the Armed Forces.

Southern Command units will take part to test integrated combat operations across varied terrains, including offensive manoeuvres in desert and creek sectors, amphibious missions along the Saurashtra coast, and complex multi-domain exercises covering Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), Electronic Warfare (EW), and Cyber capabilities.

The exercise will also emphasise the operational use of indigenous systems, demonstrate the application of self-reliance in combat readiness, and refine tactics and techniques suited to emerging threats and evolving warfare dynamics. DeshGujarat
