Ahmedabad: In order to ease traffic congestion, the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has decided to widen the road from Raipur Darwaza to Kankaria Lakefront in Khadia ward. The stretch will be expanded from 15 metres to 25 metres under the Revised Development Plan (RDP).

This road serves as a key link to the eastern parts of Ahmedabad. Currently, the section between Ten Acres Mall and Vora na Roja often turns into a bottleneck, leading to frequent traffic jams. The situation has worsened since the closure of Sarangpur Bridge for repairs.

As per the survey conducted by the AMC, seven residential and 31 commercial properties will be affected by the road-widening project. Additionally, one religious structure and a public toilet will be removed. Property owners will be compensated as per the rules.
