Ahmedabad International Book Festival 2025 begins, M.J. Library announces 50% membership discount

Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and the National Book Trust, Government of India, have jointly organized the Ahmedabad International Book Festival 2025 from November 13 to 21, 2025, with the aim of introducing people of all ages to new literature and rekindling the love for reading.

In today’s fast-paced life, reading habits have declined as people increasingly prefer digital content over physical books. The excessive use of mobile phones and social media has further contributed to the gradual decline in the number of readers.

Sheth M.J. Library has been making continuous efforts to expand its readership and membership base. In line with this, the library has announced a 50% discount on its lifetime membership fee—offering it at ₹3,000—for one month starting from the commencement of the Ahmedabad International Book Festival 2025.

To make membership registration easier for visitors, a help desk has been set up by M.J. Library at the festival venue. Additionally, an information stand has been installed to raise awareness about the library’s literature collection and available services.

The National Book Trust has made over 5,000 e-books in 23 languages available on the National E-Library website, the link to which has been shared on the M.J. Library website. This will enable M.J. Library members to access these e-books conveniently.

Bus facilities have also been arranged to encourage readers to visit the library and participate in the book fair in large numbers. DeshGujarat
