Speaking at the event, Amit Shah highlighted the transformative impact of sports infrastructure in Ahmedabad. He said the city has become a model for efficient use of space—developing mini sports arenas, libraries, open gyms and yoga centres under flyovers.
“With the world’s largest cricket stadium and the upcoming Sardar Patel Sports Enclave, Ahmedabad has secured the hosting rights for the Commonwealth Games 2030,” Shah said. “The city is also preparing to welcome global police and fire brigade games in 2029, and 13 international sporting events in the run-up to a potential bid for the 2036 Olympics.”
Shah also credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for turning Gujarat into a hub of sports and youth development through initiatives like Khel Mahakumbh and Khelo India.
Ayodhya Temple Milestones Highlighted
Referring to the Ayodhya Ram Temple, Shah said, “From the bhoomipujan in 2019 to the pran pratishtha in 2024, and the ceremonial flag hoisting in 2025, the entire journey has been completed under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.” He added that work is progressing at the birthplace of Sita Mata as well.
“Nation Advancing Under PM Modi”
The Union Minister said India’s global stature has risen across multiple sectors such as security, economy, renewable energy, foodgrain production, and infrastructure. He listed major Gujarat-linked national milestones including the world’s largest renewable energy park in Kutch, Dholera’s greenfield smart city, the Surat–Chennai Expressway, Gift City, and the upcoming Ahmedabad–Mumbai bullet train.
