BJP MP Mansukh Vasava threatens to quit party
December 25, 2025
Narmada: BJP veteran and Bharuch Lok Sabha MP Mansukh Vasava has threatened to resign from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Chaitar Vasava demanded Rs 75 lakh from a government official. The MP expressed anger after his complaint regarding the alleged demand was reportedly ignored by district authorities.
Mansukh Vasava claimed that Chaitar Vasava had demanded Rs 75 lakh from the Narmada District Executive Engineer of the Roads and Buildings Department. According to the MP, District Collector S.K. Modi had reportedly acknowledged this in the presence of BJP District President Neel Rao. However, when Chaitar Vasava met the Collector yesterday seeking clarification, the Collector denied that any such demand had been made.
“I am working with the government, and there is a recording of the District Collector demanding Rs 75 lakh, but I don’t know why the Collector is hiding this. I am speaking in support of the officials and the government and fighting against such people,” the Lok Sabha MP said.
Speaking further, Mansukh Vasava said, “Whether I am speaking the truth, or the Collector is correct, or Chaitar Vasava is correct, will be decided by the government. If justice is not delivered, I will resign from the BJP. I am meeting the Collector in person to ask why the assurances given earlier were not upheld.”
Reacting to the allegations, Chaitar Vasava denied any wrongdoing. “The Collector has clarified that the claims are false. Mansukh Vasava is making baseless allegations to defame me. If these false accusations continue, we will initiate legal action,” he said.
The controversy arose after Mansukh Vasava publicly accused Chaitar Vasava of pressuring officials from the Roads and Buildings Department to obtain government grants and other work-related information. According to the BJP MP, Chaitar Vasava initially seeks information and later allegedly attempts extortion by intimidating officials.
In addition, Mansukh Vasava refuted claims that BJP workers received preferential treatment in a Prime Ministerial programme. He challenged Chaitar Vasava to provide evidence of such claims, stating, “Instead of making false statements, show proof.” DeshGujarat
