Asarwa Civil Hospital served 11.63 lakh OPD patients, 1.04 lakh indoor patients in 2025

Ahmedabad: Asarwa based Civil Hospital in the city has consolidated its position as one of Gujarat’s one of busiest public healthcare institutions. Releasing the annual performance data for 2025, Civil Superintendent Dr. Rakesh Joshi said that a total of 11,63,740 patients availed outpatient (OPD) services at the hospital during the year, while 1,04,840 patients were admitted for indoor (IPD) treatment.

Expressing satisfaction over the hospital’s achievements, Dr. Joshi stated, “Civil Hospital is known not only by the numbers, but by the smiles and satisfaction of millions of patients. Our aim is that even the last person gets the best treatment with the latest technology and a humane approach. These figures of 2025 are the result of the day-and-night hard work of our doctors and staff and the unwavering trust of the people.”

The hospital recorded a significant surge in diagnostic and surgical services last year. As many as 34,10,526 laboratory tests were conducted in 2025, underlining the hospital’s robust diagnostic infrastructure.

The Radiology Department carried out 3,98,710 X-rays, 24,292 CT scans, and 11,910 MRI examinations during the year. In terms of surgical interventions, 54,868 operations were successfully performed, while more than 7,800 safe deliveries were conducted at the facility.

The hospital witnessed a heavy patient inflow across various departments:

  • Medicine Department: The busiest wing of the hospital handled 1,52,454 OPD cases, while 28,865 patients were admitted for treatment.

  • Orthopedic Department: 1,09,837 patients visited the OPD for bone-related ailments, with 8,656 admitted as indoor patients.

  • Dermatology Department: 1,08,667 patients received treatment for skin-related conditions.

  • Pediatrics Department: 84,772 children were treated in OPD, and 18,328 were admitted for specialized care.

  • Gynecology and Obstetrics Department: 82,231 women availed OPD services, while 14,120 were treated as indoor patients.

  • Surgery Department: 55,707 patients visited the OPD, and 18,329 were admitted for surgical care.

The hospital’s super specialty wings, including Pediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology, Neurosurgery, and Neuro Medicine, also delivered high-quality medical services.
