Gujarat BJP Chief Jagdish Vishwakarma Slams AAP and TMC Over Media Persecution

Gandhinagar: During a recent press conference, Gujarat BJP State President Jagdishbhai Vishwakarma launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Trinamool Congress (TMC), accusing them of suppressing the media and local officials to hide government failures,.

Allegations Against the AAP Government in Punjab

Vishwakarma characterized the media as the “fourth pillar of democracy” and a “mirror to society,” but claimed that the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP is actively working to “crush” this mirror,. He highlighted several incidents in Punjab, including a raid on the Punjab Kesari newspaper office and the alleged physical assault of journalists by Punjab Police in Bathinda.

Vishwakarma also cited the arrest of a female journalist from the Times Network in Ludhiana as an act of retaliation for reporting on the “Sheesh Mahal”—a controversial luxury residence built for the Delhi Chief Minister,. He further alleged that the AAP government uses police force to pressure media houses into not broadcasting BJP events live,. Additionally, Vishwakarma claimed that past incidents of ink or shoes being thrown at Arvind Kejriwal were “self-staged” by AAP workers to gain “cheap publicity”,.

Crisis in West Bengal and the Death of Ashok Das

Turning his attention to West Bengal, Vishwakarma described the state as a “laboratory of fear and political violence” under the TMC. He specifically drew attention to the tragic suicide of Ashok Das, a Booth Level Officer (BLO) in the Jadavpur assembly constituency,.

Vishwakarma alleged that Das, whom he described as an honest official, was driven to suicide after being repeatedly threatened by TMC leaders Ananya Banerjee and Raju Biswas. These leaders allegedly warned Das that his family would be harmed if he removed “illegal voters,” such as Rohingya and Bangladeshis, from the electoral rolls,. The BJP chief claimed the TMC protects these illegal residents to maintain a “vote bank,” even at the cost of national security,.

Redefining “TMC” In a pointed concluding remark, Vishwakarma offered a new definition for the TMC acronym based on the party’s current actions:

  • T stands for Truptikaran (Appeasement politics).
  • M stands for Mafia and “Gunda Raj”.
  • C stands for Crime Culture.

Vishwakarma demanded to know if West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee would take action against the workers who allegedly pressured Ashok Das to end his life, or if they would instead be rewarded,. He emphasized that the BJP would continue its struggle to make Bengal “fear-free” and ensure justice for government employees and the media. DeshGujarat
