Pack of stray dogs attacks school-going child in Vadodara; CCTV footage goes viral

Vadodara: Another incident highlighting the growing menace of stray dogs has come to light in Sahayog Society on Gorwa Refinery Road, where an innocent school-going child was attacked by a pack of four dogs. The entire incident was captured on a nearby CCTV camera, and the footage has gone viral on social media, triggering anger among local residents.

According to the CCTV visuals, a woman was walking towards the school with two children when a child running slightly behind her reached near a school gate. At that moment, four stray dogs suddenly attacked him. One dog first bit the child on his right leg, causing him to fall to the ground. Within seconds, three other dogs joined in and attacked him further. As the child tried to stand up, one of the dogs attacked again, forcing him to fall to his knees in pain.

Fortunately, a car driver passing through the area acted quickly, stopping his vehicle and rushing towards the spot, which helped scare the dogs away. The woman then reached the child and managed to rescue him. The child suffered serious injuries in the attack.

Reacting strongly, the child’s father, Dr. Gopal Gondaliya, expressed anger over the administration’s inaction. “My son was going to school with his grandmother. Seeing his friends ahead, he ran forward when the dogs attacked him. Being a doctor, I immediately took him to the hospital for treatment. Stray dogs have been a problem here for a long time, yet the corporation is not taking effective action,” he said.

Residents of the area said the stray dog problem is also increasing in nearby Vrindavan and Sangeeta societies. They claimed that dogs often chase vehicles and pedestrians in the mornings, raising fears of accidents. Locals added that the civic body has been informed several times, but no permanent solution has been implemented. DeshGujarat
