February 04, 2026
Ahmedabad: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC), in its Draft Budget 2026, has proposed Rs 5 crore for feasibility studies at five locations for future bridge and elevated corridor projects. These include a proposed river bridge over the Sabarmati from Hansol to Koteshwar, a new bridge near Dafnala Junction based on the CRRI traffic survey report, and an elevated flyover corridor connecting Dariyapur Darwaja to Delhi Darwaja via Shahpur.
Other elevated corridor feasibility proposals include a stretch from Prernatirth Derasar through Sundarvan, Ranujanagar to Mansi Circle in Jodhpur Ward, and another corridor from Radhswami Road via Bakaramandi to Acher Depot Road.
The feasibility study allocation forms part of the broader Rs 212 crore provision made for the implementation of a Bridge Health Monitoring System, scheduled maintenance works, beautification projects, planning for new bridge infrastructure, and foot overbridge development.
Out of the total, Rs 181 crore has been earmarked specifically for bridge health monitoring, repair works, structural maintenance, and beautification initiatives across Ahmedabad.
AMC has also proposed Rs 1 crore for a feasibility study to construct foot overbridges at various points along the S.G. Highway, aimed at improving pedestrian safety on one of the city’s busiest corridors. DeshGujarat
