Surat Airport set to get three new domestic flight connections

Surat: Air connectivity from Surat is likely to improve from March 30 with the proposed launch of three new flights to Noida (Jewar), Navi Mumbai, and Mumbai International Airport under the summer schedule.

It is learnt that the IndiGo airline will be operating the Noida service, with the flight arriving in Surat at 10 pm and departing for Noida (Jewar) at 10:30 pm after passenger disembarkation.

A second flight to Navi Mumbai, likely to be run by Star Air, is planned to operate five days a week—on the first, third, fifth, sixth, and seventh days. This flight is scheduled to land in Surat at 10:45 am and depart for Navi Mumbai at 1:10 pm.

The third service, connecting Surat with Mumbai International Airport, is proposed to depart early in the morning, with final timings currently being worked out, according to a news report.

The restoration of direct Surat–Mumbai connectivity after nearly four years is expected to ease travel for residents. Passenger traffic on this route had dropped to just 382 in 2023–24 before suspension, though it earlier recorded strong demand, including over 84,000 passengers in 2018–19 and more than 50,000 in several previous years.

Aviation observers say the new routes to the greenfield airports at Navi Mumbai and Noida will strengthen domestic links and support future international connectivity. DeshGujarat
