Ahmedabad: A total of 1,849 patients are currently on the waiting list for kidney allocation at the Civil Medicity Kidney Hospital in Ahmedabad, the Gujarat government informed the State Assembly.

Responding to a question, the Minister of State for Health told the House that, as of January 25, 2026, 1,849 patients were awaiting kidney transplants at the Ahmedabad Civil Medicity facility. The government further stated that 293 patients have received kidney transplants at the hospital over the past two years.
