February 25, 2026
Surat: Surat International Airport achieved its highest-ever monthly passenger traffic in January 2026, with 1,71,580 travellers flying in and out of the Diamond City.
The previous record stood at 1,70,127 passengers, set in November last year. Notably, the January surge came despite 122 fewer aircraft movements compared to November. As passenger numbers continue to rise steadily, residents have once again pressed for additional flight routes and improved passenger amenities to keep pace with growing demand.
In January 2026, the airport handled 1,47,920 domestic passengers across 1,295 domestic flight movements, while 23,660 international travellers flew through 152 international movements.
In comparison, November last year saw 1,50,725 domestic passengers across 1,449 movements and 19,402 international passengers through 120 international movements. DeshGujarat
