Ahmedabad: As part of a stringent drive to curb dust pollution and enhance urban safety, the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Saturday sealed three prominent construction sites in the Gota ward.

The action followed non-compliance by the developers, who had failed to install compulsory green nets and barricading measures required to control dust and particulate emissions. A dedicated team from AMC’s Estate and Town Development Officer (TDO) department of the North West Zone carried out a surprise inspection and ordered an immediate halt to work at the Evera, S Plus, and Solo Bliss 2 projects, citing clear violations of the city’s Good Construction Practice Policy.

Additionally, the Solo Bliss project was fined ₹1 lakh after construction materials were found spilling onto a public road, posing a serious traffic risk. The enforcement drive also covered other localities, with a construction site in Bodakdev penalized ₹50,000 for excessive dust pollution, while a developer in Thaltej ward was fined ₹1 lakh for breaching safety norms.
