Customer Finds Worm in Gujarati Thali at SP Ring Road Restaurant, AMC Imposes Fine

Ahmedabad: A popular dining spot in the city has come under fire after a customer found a worm in a Gujarati thali he had ordered, raising serious concerns over food safety standards.

The incident occurred at The Raj Thal and Restaurant, located on SP Ring Road. According to claims, the customer had ordered five Gujarati thalis, costing him around Rs 2,200. However, while dining, he was shocked to find a live worm in his meal. The customer immediately registered a formal complaint with the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) via its helpline number, 155303.

Following the complaint, a team from the AMC’s health department conducted an inspection of the premises. The investigation revealed a disturbing lack of hygiene, with inspectors reporting dirt and unsanitary conditions in multiple areas of the restaurant.

In light of these health violations and the overall lack of cleanliness found on-site, the municipal corporation imposed a fine of ₹10,000 on the restaurant. DeshGujarat
