10 MLD CETP in Ankleshwar Gets GPCB Nod
April 09, 2026
Ankleshwar: The 10 MLD Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) constructed by the Ankleshwar Waste Management Association near Walia Chowkdi has received Consolidated Consent and Authorization (CC&A) approval from Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) after a prolonged delay, bringing relief and optimism to industrial stakeholders. The approval enables the facility to commence legal operations, subject to certain compliance responsibilities.
Located in Ankleshwar GIDC, the CETP has been developed to serve micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Ankleshwar Industrial Estate. The centralized facility allows access to professional and trained operational staff, an advantage not feasible for individual units, ensuring more efficient and standardized treatment of industrial effluents.
The CETP is expected to streamline wastewater and chemical waste management while simplifying regulatory oversight. By enabling collective treatment, it reduces the need for individual effluent treatment systems, leading to significant savings in capital and operational costs. The facility will particularly benefit smaller industries constrained by limited space and resources.
Designed exclusively for MSME units in Ankleshwar, the plant will handle high-strength wastewater containing elevated levels of Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), and ammoniacal nitrogen through biological treatment processes.
Post-treatment, the effluent will be conveyed via pipeline to the Final Effluent Treatment Plant (FETP) operated by Narmada Clean Tech. It will then be discharged into the Arabian Sea through a marine diffuser system, supported by a booster pumping station at Kantiyajal, approximately 10 km away. DeshGujarat
