President Murmu to be in Rajkot on April 13

Rajkot: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rajkot, is gearing up to host its first convocation ceremony on April 13, during which the inaugural MBBS batch of 2020 will be formally awarded their degrees.

It is learnt that President of India Droupadi Murmu is expected to attend the ceremony as the chief guest, preside over the function, deliver the convocation address, and present degrees and medals to the graduating students. The ceremony is also expected to be attended by several dignitaries, including Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel, and Gujarat Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Praful Pansheriya.

A total of 49 students will receive MBBS degrees, while one candidate will be awarded a postdoctoral certificate in virology. The President will also confer 10 medals on meritorious students.

Preparations for the event are underway, with around 700 attendees expected, including graduates, their parents, faculty members, students, and local administrators. DeshGujarat
