AMC crackdown on illegally operating fire-crackers making units in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: After a blast and fire incident at illegally operating fire-crackers making factory on Saturday in the outskirts of Ahmedabad, the Amdavad Municipal Corporation(AMC) today declared the names of the persons who died in this incident.

Meanwhile, Police have arrested Mehulkumar Bhailalbhai Dodiya who was operating the illegal fire-crackers factory in Ramol area as main accused in the case.

AMC has meanwhile cracked down on several illegal units including one by Kantibhai Shrimali in Vastral area, one by Mohansinkhan Pathan in Ramol area, one by Zishanuddin Saiyed in Narol area and another by Kamruddin Seiyed in Gyaspur area.

Fire Department’s Zonewise Inspection in Ahmedabad: 30 Notices Issued During Inspection of 147 Places

A special inspection was conducted by the Fire and Emergency Services Department of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation on July 19, 2026 to ensure compliance with fire safety rules in all zones of the city.

A total of 147 places were inspected, which included various types of godowns, warehouses, commercial units and other places.

A total of 30 notices were issued during the inspection, of which action was taken against 23 warehouses/godowns and 7 other units. 4 units have been sealed.

From tomorrow this action will be carried out in the form of an intensive campaign.
