July 26, 2026
Vadodara: Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GACL) has granted in-principle approval to set up a new HCL Synthesis Unit at its Dahej complex at an estimated cost of ₹55 crore.
According to the company, the proposed unit will enable better utilisation of chlorine, helping optimise the production of caustic soda at the Dahej plant. The project is aimed at improving operational efficiency while making more effective use of by-products generated during the manufacturing process.
The company further stated that its Board of Directors has already approved the establishment of a Phosphoric Acid Plant at Dahej. The additional hydrochloric acid (HCL) produced from the new HCL Synthesis Unit will be utilised as a key raw material for the upcoming phosphoric acid facility.
The new project is expected to strengthen integration between GACL’s chemical manufacturing units at Dahej and support the company’s plans to expand its value-added product portfolio while enhancing resource utilisation. DeshGujarat
