Gujarat Delegations to Visit 22 Countries for Vibrant Gujarat 2027 Outreach

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has launched one of its widest investment outreach campaigns ahead of the 11th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) 2027. Through October and November 2026, high-level delegations will visit 22 countries, while roadshows will be held in eight cities across India, according to a press release.

The summit, themed ‘Viksit Gujarat – Shaping Global Future’, will be held at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar from January 10 to 12, 2027. The Industrial Extension Bureau (iNDEXTb), Government of Gujarat, is the nodal agency for the event.

This phase builds on the outreach that began in August 2026, when Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel led a high-level delegation to the United States and Canada, meeting technology leaders, investors and industry bodies in San Francisco, Washington DC and Toronto.

The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, the state’s flagship biennial investment summit, was launched in 2003 by Narendra Modi, who was then the chief minister of Gujarat. Over the years, the summit has brought together heads of state, global CEOs, policymakers, institutions and investors to build partnerships that support the growth of Gujarat and India.

A focused outreach across 22 countries

The delegations will visit Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Poland, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Russia, the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Kenya, Tanzania and Mozambique.

In each country, they will hold sector-specific roundtables and one-on-one meetings with leading companies, institutional investors and industry bodies, while inviting business leaders to attend VGGS 2027 in January.

During these visits, the delegations will engage with multinational corporations, investors, government agencies, chambers of commerce, trade associations, innovation ecosystems and members of the Indian diaspora. These interactions will promote participation in the summit and highlight how India’s expanding network of free trade agreements, including those with the UAE, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, the EFTA nations and the European Union, is creating new avenues for trade and investment.

Gujarat is positioning itself as a preferred destination for investors looking to capitalise on these opportunities. The state offers substantial port capacity and a strategic coastline along key global trade routes, industrial parks and corridors such as the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), the Dholera project, GIFT City as an international financial services hub, a growing semiconductor and electronics ecosystem, and a strong renewable energy sector. These advantages are supported by a stable, investor-friendly policy environment and efficient single-window governance.

The outreach campaign aims to reinforce Gujarat’s position as a global platform that brings together governments, businesses, innovators, investors and thought leaders to shape future growth.

Sunrise sectors at the centre

According to the press release, VGGS 2027 will place special emphasis on sunrise sectors, including semiconductors, artificial intelligence, fintech, green energy, data centres and space technologies. Gujarat already has a strong foundation in several of these sectors.

Semiconductors: Gujarat is emerging as a major semiconductor hub in India. Micron’s assembly and test facility was inaugurated in February, while Kaynes Semicon’s outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) unit was inaugurated in March. The CG Power-Renesas OSAT project is also under way. At Dholera, Tata Electronics is building what is planned to be India’s first commercial semiconductor fabrication facility in partnership with Taiwan’s Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (PSMC), with Dutch company ASML serving as an equipment and technology partner.

Fintech and data centres: GIFT City, India’s first International Financial Services Centre, is the anchor for the state’s fintech ecosystem. More than 1,000 entities operate there, employing over 20,000 people. The city also hosts 38 banks with a combined asset base of USD 100 billion. A unified regulator, the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), single-window clearances and plug-and-play infrastructure are designed to simplify business operations. Its utility tunnel, City Command and Control Centre, and district cooling system provide supporting infrastructure for fintech and data centre investments.

Green energy: The Khavda renewable energy park in Kutch is among the world’s largest renewable energy projects. Spread across more than 72,000 hectares, the planned 37-GW solar-wind hybrid park is expected to generate enough electricity to power nearly 18 million homes once completed. Gujarat’s broader clean energy base is also substantial. According to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), the state’s installed renewable energy capacity stood at 52.61 GW, accounting for approximately 18% of India’s total installed renewable energy capacity.

VGGS 2027 aims to build on these anchor investments by attracting suppliers, technology partners and skilled talent to develop complete industrial ecosystems.

Taking Gujarat to the rest of India

Alongside the international visits, roadshows will be held in Guwahati, Lucknow, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar and Jaipur to reach Indian and multinational companies based in these regions.

Similar roadshows held ahead of previous editions have played an important role in promoting Gujarat as one of India’s preferred investment destinations. DeshGujarat
