Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) today lodged a complaint against Congress Councillors for the ruckus and damaging of its property during its special meeting yesterday convened to clear the annual budget.

AMC representative P N Vasava lodged the complaint in Karanj police station against Congress Councillor Shahnawaz Shaikh and others.

It is pertaining to the damage of government property worth around Rs 10,000, police today said.

Congress corporators had allegedly created ruckus in the house and damaged the mike, furniture and other property of the AMC after the ruling BJP suspended a Congress Councillor yesterday..During the discussion on the budget, Congress members had raised the issue of lack of basic infrastructure in minority-dominated areas like Danilimada and Sarkhej.

Though an official of the civic body alleged that apart from Shahnawaz Sheikh, Badruddin Sheikh and some women coroprators of Congress were responsible for the ‘vandalism’ yet the complaint don’t explicitly mentioned any other name. The complaint is in the name of Shahnawaz Sheikh and others, police said.
