12 days police remand for 4 sharp shooters of D-gang nabbed from Rajkot

Rajkot: A local court today allowed 12 days police remand of the four sharp-shooter of D-gang nabbed from a luxury bus here yesterday.

Earlier the crime branch had lodged a case under section 307, 511 and 120 B of the IPC and 25 (1) of Arms Act and 135 (1) of the Gujarat Police Act against the four and their master-mind and brother of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, Anis Ibrahim.

Police had sought 14 days remand for further interrogation.

The ring leader of the 4 sharp-shooters Ramdas alias Ramu Rahane (40, resident of Mumbai) is a notorious member of the crime racket run by Anis and was involved in various cases including that of an attack on noted film-maker Rajiv Rai known for films super-hit like ‘Mohra’, ‘Gupt’ and ‘Tridev’.

The other three shooters were identified as Vineet Pundalik Jhalte (30, resident of Nasik) Anil R Dhilod (29, resident of Mumbai) and Sandeep D Shibang (28, resident of Mumbai).

They were caught on the basis of a tip off from the private luxury bus coming from Maharashtra. Some plain clothed policemen in bullet-proof jacket were seated in the bus and kept a watch on them and a pistol and around half a dozen live cartridges, three knives and some fake number plates have been recovered from their possession. They had come here on a contract killing (Supari killing) mission of Jamnagar based businessman Ashfaq Khatri.
