New Delhi: Congress president Rahul Gandhi has appointed Gujarat Congress leader Himanshu Vyas as Secretary of All India Congress Committee(AICC), the national organisational body of Congress party. Vyas has been assigned to Indian Overseas Congress, the NRI wing of Congress party. Vyas is considered close to Sam Pitroda who may have recommended Vyas’s elevation to national team. Vyas had contested from Surendranagar assembly seat unsuccessfully in the past. He has been State Congress’s spokesperson.
