Rs. 10 lakh fine to two private hospitals for breach of MoU with AMC

Ahmedabad: Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has slapped with Rs. 5 lakh fine to two private hospitals for breach of MoU signed with the AMC for treatment of Covid-19 patients.
Paldi based Bodyline hospital has been fined for charging Rs. 4500 from a patient for Covid-19 patient who was referred by AMC. As per MoU, the hospital can’t charge from a patient referred by AMC. The amount to be received as fine will be spent for Covid patients, said AMC statement.
Ambawadi based Artham hospital has been fined for admitting private patients on 50% beds that have to be reserved for Covid patients referred by AMC. The amount to be received as fine will be spent for Covid patients, said AMC statement.
AMC has said that if mistakes are repeated, it may attract cancellation of ‘C’ form registration which is required to operate.
