Kevadiya: Level of water at Sardar Sarovar Narmada dam today crossed 135 meter mark. Full reservoir level in this dam is 138.68 meter. About one month of ongoing monsoon season is still left this year. Interestingly, even last year, 135 meter level was achieved on 2nd September, while full level was achieved on 15 September.
At 8 pm today, the dam was 89.03 per cent full with water. Inflow was 3,99,322 cusecs, while outflow was minimized at 3,53,369 cusec.
Maximum possible level of water in the dam went up from 121.92 meter earlier to 138.68 meter in year 2017 after installation and closure of 30 gates over dam structure that offers drinking water to more than 3 crore people across Gujarat and therefore is rightly called a lifeline of the State.
