Surat: District Police has suspended four cops including an assistant sub-inspector for lethargy in connection with Covid19 guideline breach case involving Patidar quota stir leader Alpesh Kathiria and others. According to Superintendent of Police Usha Rada, three accused have been booked for offenses under epidemic act, disaster act and violation of notification. Police arrested three including Kathiria for holding birthday party during night time at Sahjanand farm in group and thus violating the guidelines of Covid19. Police came to know about this party after videos of Kathiria’s well-attended birthday party went viral on social media. The two others arrested are former Congress corporator Nilesh Kumbhani and farmhouse owner DM Butani. Kathiria is presently out on bail in different cases including a sedition case.
