Rupani announces additional Covid beds, injections, RTPCR test machine for Rajkot

Rajkot: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani who was on visit to home-town Rajkot to review the Covid19 pandemic situation today said Rajkot will get an additional machine for RTPCR test.
He said the State government has made urgent purchase of 11 machines that are being allocated to needy areas.
Rupani said Rajkot has been supplied 15,000 Remdesivir injections in past five days. He added that Remdesivir must not be administered unnecessarily as it damages lever and kidney.
Rupani said private nursing homes in Rajkot have assured him that they will add 600 additional covid beds for mild patients.
Rupani said Rajkot will in next three to four days have total 6,631 Covid beds. 4293 beds are available in Rajkot city and district at present, out of which 2,535 are occupied while 1,700 are vacant. This includes Samras hospital, Covid Care Centres and even ICU attached hospitals.
Rupani said, Mehul Dave, Additional Collector has been appointed for overall management of Civil hospital.
Rupani agreed with media persons that Civil hospital was full. He said beds will be available as and when presently admitted patients are discharged. DeshGujarat
