Dhanera: Election for the post of the president of Dhanera Municipality was held today after demise of outgoing president Jagalben Thakor. Following suspension of 15 Congress members by the Development Commissioner over irregularities in development works, BJP had achieved majority in this municipal body. An election for the post of President was held by Deputy Collector Yogesh Vyas today for which Jyotsnaben Trivedi and Kiranben Soni, both from BJP had filed nominations. As each of them got six votes, Kiranben Soni was declared victorious through lottery. Dhanera had 16 Congress and 12 BJP members. However due to suspension of Congress members the election for the post of President was held in presence of only 12 BJP members. DeshGujarat
