Vadodara gets rooftop solar power plant over Akota – Dandiya Bazar bridge

Vadodara: Energy minister Saurabh Patel today inaugurated Rs. 27.4 crore rooftop solar power plant erected over Akota – Dandiya Bazar bridge.
This 982.8 kw rooftop solar power plant will generate 3,930 units power per day (or 14.34 lakh units in year) and result into saving of Rs. 87 lakh in annual electricity bill of Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC). The power generated through this plant will be used for VMC office at Khanderao market building and Rajivnagar and Atladra sewage pumping stations.
The solar tunnel will have feature of attractive lighting across the year during the weekends and festivals. The contractor is responsible for its maintenance and service for next twenty years. VMC and Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (MGVCL) will sign a pact over power generated through this plant. DeshGujarat
