Ahmedabad SVPI Airport re-carpeting works to start on January 17

Sabarmati: The re-carpeting work of a runway at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport Ahmedabad is likely to begin from 17th January. The re-carpeting work will be done during 9 am to 6 pm except Sundays and public holidays till 22nd May 2022.
The works to be covered include the runway overlapping, runway strip grading, slope assessment, runway end safety area (RESA) grading, storm water drainage construction, and restoration of signs in maneuvering areas.
As per international safety standards, it is mandatory to conduct renovation of runways from time to time to increase its lifespan and for safety of airplanes. DeshGujarat
