A Policeman runover by trucker dies in Central Gujarat

Borsad: A police constable died after a truck-driver allegedly drove the truck on his car trying to stop him for vehicle checking during night duty in Borsad town.

The police constable Kiransinh Raj, serving in Borsad town, was conducting vehicle checking during his night duty. He gave indications to a truck driver to stop but the truck driver didn’t stop and passed speedily. The police constable followed him. He overtook the truck and stopped his car in front of the truck to stop him from driving ahead. However, the truck driver drove the truck on the car. He was admitted to Karamsad hospital due to severe injuries, following which he died.

Anand district police chief Ajit Rajian said that it is an intentional crime. The truck, with Rajasthan passing, is seized by the police. The police called the transport owner of the truck. The transport owner produced the accused truck driver to Borsad police station.He is booked under IPC section 304.

The police constable Kiransinh Raj served in the police department since 2006. He was the father of two children. His wife passed away four years ago. DeshGujarat
