Gujarat govt imposes Disturbed Areas Act in areas of Dhandhuka town

Ahmedabad: Following an increased intensity and duration of riots and mob violence in Dhandhuka town, the Gujarat Government has imposed the Disturbed Areas Act in some of areas of Dhandhuka from today.
The state government, in a notification, said it was exercising its powers under The Gujarat Prohibition of Transfer of Immovable Property and Provision for Protection of Tenants from Eviction from Premises in Disturbed Areas Act, 1991, by declaring some areas of Dhandhuka town of Ahmedabad District as disturbed areas.
Areas that are declared disturbed are Modhvada, Luharfali, Sutharvada, Kadiyafali etc. The period for this aforesaid implementation, will be for five years i.e. form 29th Oct 2022 to 28th Oct 2027.
