9.47 lakh Ujjwala LPG connections provided in Gujarat in 2 years

Gandhinagar: A total of 9,47,418 LPG connections were released under the central government’s Ujjwala Yojana in Gujarat, stated Rameswar Teli, the Minister of State in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, in Rajya Sabha in reply to a question of during the ongoing Monsoon session of Parliament.
In the reply to Rajya Sabha MP Parimal Nathwani, the government stated, As on 01.07.2023, there are 9.59 crore beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana(PMUY). No State/UT-wise allocation of funds is done under PMUY. Under PMUY, Government bears an expenditure of upto Rs 1600 per connection for the Security Deposit (SD) of the Cylinder, Pressure Regulator, Suraksha Hose, DGCC booklet and installation charges. Year-wise details of LPG connections released under PMUY in the state of Gujarat from 2020 are as under:-

LPG beneficiaries, who are cash-transfer compliant under DBTL scheme, are eligible to receive subsidy and the applicable subsidy is credited to their bank account directly. In addition, government has started a targeted subsidy of Rs. 200 per 14.2 Kg cylinder for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) beneficiaries for upto 12 refills for year 2022-23 and 2023-24.
