Election Commission authorizes 12 more documents for voting

Gandhinagar: In addition to the Elector’s Photo Identity Card (EPIC), the Election Commission has authorized 12 other documents for individuals to exercise their voting rights, as stated in a statement from the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO).
Gujarat will go for polls for 26 Lok Sabha seats and 5 assembly seats (by-election) on May 7th. The approved documents include:
– Aadhaar card
– MNREGA job card
– Bank/post office passbook with a photograph
– Health insurance smart card issued by the Ministry of Labour
– Driving licence
– PAN card
– Smart card issued by the Registrar General of India (RGI) under NPR
– Indian passport
– Pension document with a photograph
– Service identity card issued to employees by central/state government/public sector undertakings/public limited companies
– Official identity cards provided to MPs and MLAs
– Unique disability ID (UDID) issued by the government.
