Pakistan’s involvement emerges in Ahmedabad school bomb threat case
May 10, 2024
Ahmedabad: The primary investigation into the bomb threats targeting several schools in the city has revealed the involvement of Pakistan.
Around 47 schools in the city received emails containing bomb threats, which were later determined to be hoaxes. The emails were sent from the email address tauheedl@mail.ru, originating from a Russian server.
The Cybercrime unit and Crime Branch are investigating the case. The primary investigation has uncovered that the emails were sent from a location near Pakistan Army’s base camp in Faisalabad. It is learned that the emails were sent using a virtual ID by altering the name of a counterintelligence officer. These details have raised suspicions about the involvement of the Pakistani intelligence agency, ISI.
It is noteworthy that the threat was received just a day before the polling for Lok Sabha elections took place on May 7th in Gujarat. The bomb threats were ostensibly sent to create an atmosphere of fear and reduce voter turnout. DeshGujarat
