NHAI revises toll tax at Limdi Toll Plaza in Gujarat on NH 56
June 03, 2024
Surendranagar: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced new toll rates for approximately 1,100 toll plazas nationwide, effective today. The toll rates have increased by 3% to 5% across the country, including at the Limdi Toll Plaza on National Highway 56 in Gujarat.
National Highway 56, often known as NH 56, is a roadway that links Chittaurgarh in Rajasthan to Vapi in Gujarat. This highway traverses the states of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
NHAI officials stated that this toll rate adjustment is part of an annual process, based on fluctuations in wholesale price index-based inflation. Typically, NHAI revises toll rates every April. However, due to the Lok Sabha general elections this year, the new rates have been implemented starting June 3rd. The decision to raise toll plaza rates was made two months after the Election Commission of India instructed NHAI to enforce the higher rates after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, aligning with the conclusion of the election process.
