RTO server glitch halts E-KYC across Gujarat; thousands of applications stuck
June 08, 2024
Gandhinagar: A technical error in the server of 38 Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) in the state, including Ahmedabad, has halted E-KYC processes, leaving approximately 10,000 applications for vehicle transfers pending for the last six days. This issue has caused frustration among applicants.
Typically, around 300 to 350 applications per day come from faceless services in the three RTOs of Ahmedabad. The online e-KYC process is necessary for tasks like loan entry, loan cancellation, work related to duplicate RC books, and vehicle transfer. Applicants need to provide various documents online, including bank letters and proofs of seller and borrower in vehicle sales. This process has not worked for six days due to the glitch.
The inability to process applications online has led to a buildup of applications and operational shutdowns statewide. This stoppage has raised concerns about potential technical problems in the event of road accidents due to the non-transfer of vehicles. Despite repeated attempts to contact the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) of the transport department, there has been no response. DeshGujarat
